Anyone doing so? Care to share what you've done?

I have Haswell 4690K (4th gen obvs) and have it at 1V at stock clocks but disabled turbo. That reduces my power usage by 20W at load which is handy for my 24/7 server. I'm now upgrading that to a 6 core i5-8500 and wonder if anyone has experience to share.

I know on Haswell you can also reduce power consumption by dropping voltages on ring bus etc.

Share those tips please guys??
 
Instead of using a set voltage, you should look into using a negative voltage offset. It allows you to keep all the usual turbo features while still using less power. It can even result in a higher boost clock due to lower temps
 
No option in BIOS :-( Gigabyte BIOS

I'm not using Turbo Boost anyway. I set all cores to 40 multiplier (as long as its below the Turbo Max its not overclocking so a B365 chipset will allow). Just have to drop voltage until it crashes at full loads. Seems to barely get warm and noticeably quicker than the 4 core.

lol this uses more power when idle. as above just use the Turbo and it'll idle low as heck when not in use
 
DOH!! Some Googling gave me this so might as well put Turbo on anyway... I only wanted to make sure I could get 4GHz or so...
