Hi,

I am looking for a decent underwater compact camera for holiday to be used for mainly Snorkelling.
In the future I may go scuba diving so a depth of 6-10 meters ?

any suggestions please ?

I'm happy with my Panasonic DMC-FT3 which is 12M rated I believe :) There are two newer versions since (DMC-FT4 and FT5) but I'm not sure what changes have been made since.

Half decent point and shoot camera although like a lot of these sealed units, you might need to let them acclimatise to temperature changes since a quick temperature change can mean a little condensation on the inside.

The Panasonic offerings are very good, if you budget will stretch to the Olympus TG-2 it is better still and basically a high end compact that happens to be water proof.

wow,...the Olympus TG-2 is apx £190 +/- £15 depending where you buy it from !

The Panasonic DMC-FT3 seems to be reasonable buy for the spec.
So I will have a research in to the Panasonic.
