Underwhelming x27 experience

I've got a fetish with gaming monitors , in the last 24 months I've owned some of the best monitors known to man, most notably the AW UW , the asus pg 1440p 27 Inch, various predators, the nitro version of the x27 and now the x27 itself.

But I'm not just feeling it, dont get me wrong it's an amazing panel with no back light bleed, good response, no pixels etc., I really got lucky. But.. i just cant help feeling overwhelmed by it, it doesn't smack me on the face saying hey I'm a £2000 monitor.

I think it boils down to tinkering, I'm constantly messing around with settings trying to find that optimal hdr setting in a game that just let's me sit back and this k holy ****! I've played some true hdr videos on YouTube and some of them really pop but anything else.. well I'm just like meh.

Ive searched a lot of forums trying to find somewhere where I can get help on optinal settings and calibration but really struggling. I play destiny 2 and bfv a fair bit abd forever tinkering to get the right hdr but can never find that sweet spot. I've tried 98hz full 10bit, 120hts bit, changed all sorts of nvidia cp setting from brightness to digital vibrance but it doesn't ever seem to hit the wow factor. It's got to a point where I'm tinkering more than I'm playing.

I've got a bloody headache now, maybe I'm just way too picky looking for this flying unicorn of the ultimate monitor. My 2080ti is staring ti feel a bit underused lol.
Does anyone else have the x27 and has the same issues as me and can offer any advice?

But tinkering is playing isnt it? I seem to spend much more time confgiuring components than using them for job which they were intended!
Apologies for no useful advice, that monitor is way out of my league

Oh absolutely! But I've got the point where I've over tinkered and my brain is about to explode lol. Just cant seek to get it right and not getting anywhere near to the answer:(

If you are spending so much on monitors, I'm presuming you could afford to buy a monitor calibration tool?

I haven't in the past if I'm honest but I have looked at some the last few days. Tried one a couple of years back and found it wasnt great.

Do you think it would help? If so which one on particular? Does it also do the hdr portion of it?

I've never used one, but I have pratically perfect vison especially with colour, and it doesnt take me long to tinker to my own perfection.

I'm sure that if you look around and read some reviews you would be able to find a good one though! Can always send it back if it turns out to be crap!

Edit: If I was dealing with a lot of monitors though, I would deffo get one!

There near perfect out of the box, but go onto youtube, hardware unboxed does a good review and he shows some settings u might want to change.

Theres not a lot on this monitor online really, as I'm guessing not many people have it.

I've fiddled with the x27 a little, very happy with the results, it's also game dependent some are better than others.

HDR is strange on windows it's not as simple as my oled with a console hdr badge comes up and it works.

No badge on the pc with this monitor

What games are u playing on it?
