Just got back from seeing this, the first one was one of my favorite films ever, so i had big expectations for this one

i wasnt dissapointed either, i didnt think it was as good as the first one, but it was still an awesome film. The gore in it was fantastic, a little excessive at times maybe but still :)

the way it expanded on the story was good, and it the history more

most importantly, more kate beckinsale, she again looked stunning

the ending was good and left open for a third which im pleased about :)

bring on the dvd :)

he was the one bitten by a bat, first generation vampire thing maybe?

as lycans were different to, not being able to change back

the war started after viktor (the guy who seleen brought back to life) forced lucian to watch his wife (which was actually viktors daughter) die. He had her killed because viktor feared their child could be a blend of the species.

michael got his form because he carried the bloodline of alexander corvinus, the guy who started it all (his sons, markus and william, you find out more about them in this film). His blood allowed it to accept vampire or lychen blood without destroying each other, so when he got bit by lucian he became a lychen, then when seleen bit him, it mixed with the lychen blood and he became a hybrid, the first, a mix between the two.

and he fought viktor at the end, rudely inturruped by seleen who cut his head clean off :P

Yeah she is, but im assuming her new immunity to sunlight is to do with her having alex corvinus's blood, he did say she'd become "the future"

so perhaps because alexander was neither wolf nor vampire, just immortal, she has taken his traits of being able withstand sunlight and all that normal human stuff that they lose being a vampire

thats all i can think of

a lot of people thought its to do with marcus and william dying all vampires lost their abilities, but you learned earlier in the film that it was simply what marcus told viktor to stop him killing william and marcus, so that wouldnt be the case
