So I have a 207 with just over 100,000 on the clock that's thrown up a repair bill of around £800-1000 minimum so essentially what it's worth. So I'm looking to get a new car but I'm not the most knowledgeable. As this was unexpected my budget isn't massive as I had planned to wait on my annual bonus in September to then look at new cars.

Essentially I'm looking for a 5 Door hatchback which will be used for commuting, around 70-80 miles a day 90% of which is motorway, it doesn't need to be exciting of course. I have no real bias or preference to brand just semi decent fuel economy and lowish insurance. I have around £2000-£2500 I can spend. I'm guessing Fiesta or Focus would be the way to go but please feel free to suggest others. I'm located in Canterbury in Kent.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

stick with petrol for simpler engine and you'll be good.

Fix it and wait until September for your proper budget.

Buying into an unknown £2000 car could easily see you with decent sized bills down the line, at least your 207 is a known quantity.
