Hi I have a question.

It used to be that turning of your PC without going through Windows shutdown procedure put your data at risk.

Is this still an issue with Vista?

Cheers. :)

You mean by just turn the power off at the wall or by pressing the power button on the front of your case?

What can happen is the HDD may mark off some sectors as bad if power is cut unexpectedly. The manufacturers tools and some other applications can sort this out but as I recall it's a destructive process as they test every single sector by writing to it.
