just had my renewal reminder from Swiftcover and it says "Unfortunately, we will not be able to cover you for the coming year."
Have had clean licence and no claims for over 20 years, so I dont think its anything to do with that.
My wife thinks its something to do with the new equality rules and they are going to put up their charges and wouldnt be able to compete, but I would have thought all the insurance companies would be in the same boat
My worry is that I think you have to put on any application for new insurance if you have ever been refused insurance. I will have to contact them after the holidays to see whats going on

They are not saying they are refusing to insure you so no need to declare that. If you go on go compare or similar there are always companies that don't quote, doesn't mean you declare that.

Thats the bit I am worried about, surely "Unfortunately, we will not be able to cover you for the coming year." is the same as having been refused insurance.

Companies that dont quote on Go Compare are not actually telling you so in writing, so I wouldnt have thought they would be relevent as you say

Just had a reply from them, they are trying to say I have changed my occupation, which I havn't and they do not cover my occupation now although all I have done is renew the last few years not changing any details
I sell Ephemera on Ebay and the nearest option in occupations is Antique Dealer and they say they do not cover that option now.
They also say" Not offering you a Renewal invitation is not classed as us refusing you insurance as unfortunately your details have changed which means that you no longer meet our Underwriting criteria."
Their loss somebody else will be getting my money for doing nothing.
I did put a note on last years quote that they were a little dearer than the next quote but I couldnt be bothered to change at that time, and they would have to be cheaper next renewal if they wanted my business, perhaps I upset someone, lol

I'm sure its something to do with the gender situation with insurers which has just come into force, a way of clearing their books and starting again with new fees, we are amongst the first ones re-insuring after it started, so I wouild imagine we will hear more of this happening

I was going to change to another company anyway, htey were cheapest but their prices have crept up, so they have decided it for me
The trouble is none of the comparison sites seem to have any occupations relating to web sales or anything else to do with the internet, web design etc and dont seem to have caught up with modern day occupations
