Thinking of applying for uni in January to do a foundation year first then onto Forensic Computing but i don't think i will stand a chance against any other applicants as i have no gcses. I went to college for a semester when i was 16 and passed semester 1 of ccna easily. I did think about going to do a access course at college for a year but the amount of money i can earn in that year out justifies not earning decent money for a year. Question is will i stand any chance applying for uni or shall i just forget about it ?

She didn't even review my GCSE's but... Asked me about college, where i did two years and she said that was the only requirement.

There is an infinitly higher chance of getting on it with no GCSEs than not applying. Apply, you have nothing to lose.

Least you can do is try :)

Contact places yourself, not through UCAS, and do it as soon as you can!

If you can show them that you have the knowledge and drive to do well then I can't see why not :)

how do i go about contacting myself ? email's ? letters ?

if so how do i obtain addresses ?

Jeezo :p

Find the Uni you want to go to, ring the switchboard, ask for programme leaders of selected degree, phone them, get their emails.

If it happens to be Salford I can sort you out :p

thanks, how long after ive emailed etc will i get a interview ? and after that how long does it usually take to know if ive been accepted or not ?

How old are you, once you've got into the 'mature student' age group they claim to become much more flexible. I'm giving some serious thought to doing a foundation in Stage Managment or Theatre Technology.

I phoned, had an interview the next day, she told me during the interview i was in.

Depends how busy they are.

I'm 19 will be 20 by next September. The tests i have to take will they be subject related or the generic maths/English ? if so ive got some revising to do on maths and English XD if there subject related id get 100% :D

When I was changing uni I emailed someone, got an email then a call a day or two later, had a brief phone interview and got accepted over the phone :)

My course mates had to write an essay on roundworm, which related to the degree. Required a bit of research, essay writing and some referencing.

I would assume to get onto your degree you would do something related..
