Hi all,

I made the regrettable choice of mucking around at school, and leaving before a-levels with only a handful of GCSE passes.

That was 2 years ago and is the biggest regret of my life.

The problem I'm facing is now wanting to sort my life out and go to Uni to study something like Media and Communication (Web & New MEdia)]/URL], which require 3 a-levels or equivalent.

Currently I'm in full time work which means I'll have to leave work, and do a 1-2 year course at college or somewhere, before going to uni, which = extra debt.

Is there any other way to get into uni without doing random a-level style courses? What is defined as a 'mature student'?

Media degrees :(

Foundation year? Most uni's require you to have studies 2 years at college though.

Ah :)

I did a foundation year after i dropped my media degree. Proper loved it.

A foundation year is equivalent to 3 or 4 A-levels, from what I recall, which is what you'd do in two years at college.

I know, at Salford you had to already studied at college for 2 years :s

Do an Access to HE course at college. I'm currently doing a one year access course with the idea of going to uni. Even though it's supposedly full time, its only 16hrs a week and is easy as pie and basically prepares you for uni.
