If all goes well with my exams il be off to Nottingham at the start of the next school year

Currently i have my pc connected to a really old tevion monitor for general useage and to my 37" tv for gaming, movies etc.
Since i'l be in halls for my first year i think taking a 37" tv is rather stupid so im looking to buy a 21"-24" monitor that will also need hdmi for my xbox :)
I was thinking of spending around £220 but then i realised i would need sound so i decided to spend around £150 for the monitor and £70 for a 2.1 speaker system that can be connected to both my xbox and pc :D

Suggestions would be appreciated :)

Edit: Forgot to mention I was looking at this monitor currently :)

Personally I'd spend less on sound and more on the monitor. If you turn on the volume too much it will rain complaints and a simple soundset with very decent sound costs less than 40 quid. The Creative T3130 2.1 Speaker System for example should suffice.
Then you can spend some extra on the monitor and get a nice IPS-panel so you won't get too annoyed by the viewing angles - I assume you will be sitting in a different position when gaming on the xbox/using the pc. The Iiyama Prolite X2377HDS 23" isn't even that much more expensive.

I understand the volume part but id like something that i can crank up when i come home or when the situation requires it :)
Yeh il probably be a bit further back when im on the xbox no idea about angles, never had an IPS panel but that does tick all the boxes :)
