Uni Laptop/Netbook

Hi Guys,

My GF is hopefully off to Uni in September, and she is wanting to get a small laptop/netbook for taking to Uni, as she will be living in Whitstable and travelling to Canterbury, she wants something with good battery life, good keyboard and a good quality build - so she can work at Uni throughout the day.

I've had a little look, and my thinking is something like a Samsung NC10 - any thoughts? She's given me a budget of maximum £400, which will give her a pretty good range I should think.

The Samsungs seem to be a solid choice.

The other ones perhaps worth looking at are the Asus EeePC 1008HA and 1005HA. The 1005HA offers extremely impressive battery life, it looks rather good too.

the samsung netbooks have excellent battery life. not a lot of netbooks that are better tbh

Yep yep yep - the NC10 has great battery life. Also consider a 901, as these can get 6-7 hrs from my own experience too - that said, the keyboard is a little smaller.....
