Please bare with me as I try to explain :)

Last year, due to ill health and other issues I had to drop uni, therefore failing the entire year. I then got back on track and decided to resit the year - However, it looks like I've failed a module from my first semester and I'm not sure how this semester will go in terms of results.

My question is, as I'm redoing the entire year which contains a couple of new modules, will any resits I have in August be counted as my third attempt instead of my second attempt?

I'm just very worried about failure and not having the opportunity to progress as I haven't passed every module on my resit year. Yes, laughable I know but it's not been easy.

Thanks for any help :)

I think your department will probably know best, as this really differs an awful lot from uni to uni. Most universities want you to graduate though, so I don't think they'll deliberately skew it to try and make you fail - particularly when you have extenuating circumstances :)

You need to find out from your university. Academic regulations vary. And while yes universities want you to graduate, resits cost money and cuts to university funding mean many are getting a lot stricter.

I know if you fail a module 3 times you get kicked out of (my) uni without good excuses which im guessing you have.

Im not sure on the resitting counting and wouldn't want to comment of experiences I have heard before because im not 100% sure.

Email your personal tutor, that is what they are there for :)

Thanks for the replies :)

I have contacted my department leader today though haven't had any reply. On my result listings, it says "resit coursework as second attempt" but I suppose I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.

I'm resitting the entire year, which has new coursework and new modules so I'm really not sure.
