Uniengine valley displaying wrong info

Can anybody tell me why when i run benchmarks in valley that the clock speed on my 690gtx is showing as 1202mhz on both cores when its actual speed is 915mhz and about 1000mhz with boost enabled! if i use evga precision x to overclock by 100mhz valley shows me at 1300mhz and i then crash after 30 secs....any ideas??
