Setup my edge router lite and unified ap last night

Currently have it setup as 2 ssid 2 & 5.

Is there any benefit to having them separate or would have 1 ssid work better as I believe it auto switches for best speed?

Also any other tips for settings on my setup?

It depends on the clients IME. I'd start with one, and switch to separate ones if needed.

If your devices are clever enough to switch as needed then leave it.

If you get any problems that require choosing one or the other then you'll have to split them. For example, I once had a desktop network adaptor that refused to use the 5 GHz despite the bandwidth being much higher.

Will try it later

Did just find these tips

1. Use same SSID for all radios on the same network
2. Deal with congestion with more access points using less power
3. Don't use "Wide" 40MHz channels on 2.4GHz

Band steering is less relevant now that clients are smarter - let them decide which frequency looks like the better option from their side.
