Unigine crashes/does not respond

Just really having a bad problem with unigine heaven dx11 benchmark tool.

It used to work, but now when it starts the contrast and colours seem off (much darker than usual lacking certain colours), and then it stops and doesnt respond, sometimes crashes?

has anyone else experienced this? and is there a solution?

I have an ATI hd 5970
 
ok got unigine working again after reinstalling 10.1 (no hotfix thing) and unigine v1, but turning off applications like Avast that run at start.

But I still get very high contrast, with some stages being unsually dark.
