Unigine DirectX11 benchmark

You need a 5 series card for dx11 the 4 series cards are dx10.1 you need dx11 to run tessellation.x1950 pro cards are dx9.

I wonder if this is true though as ati cards have had tesselation units for quite a long time. From the 4 series back they obviously can't run dx11 but i wonder if its possible for game makers to make use of this in the older cards.

The DX11 tessellation version is different to the older tessellation versions so no not without a different code path.

Even with a different code path - I would hazard a guess the tessellation on older cards while upto doing a few character models would probably weep at this extensive useage... and produce even less satisfactory results visually.

I noticed i speed increase when i swiched windows7 to basic, removing the transparent windows. 39.5 with tessellation on, before i was getting
37

Most likely.

If you are on Vista then you need to install DX11, it's not out yet but there is a hack to make it appear on windows update

Not really a hack but a platform update - class it is a post-beta but pre-release ;)

My Vista 5870 score:

Shame no ones running with the same settings... makes things a bit hard to compare...

Standard settings, no tessellation run:

Strange how we are seeing such a wild range of scores with the single 5870, the results that I've seen go from ~34 to ~44 at 1920x1200, next time I run it I'll run perfmon and see if the cpu is maxxing out at any point.

I had task manager up and I think the thing is single threaded, but I'll confirm that.

5870CF seems to be a lot more consistent at ~68

Edit: Ran it through again at 1920x1200 and it isnt CPU limited, and it is using all 4 cores albeit not evenly.

Doesn't work for me, only works in Dx10 mode, have to Task Manager kill it, not responding, either just sits on the loading screen after the word benchmark appears with the mouse pointer on screen, or when benchmark fully appears, goes to another screen that spells out unigine, and thats it. :(

Could it be as im still on the RC ?

That Ladybug Dx11 demo works fine.

Crossfire HD5770's @ 900/1300
Was really impressed how well the 5770 stacked up to its bigger brothers till I noticed crossfire!

Any chance you can run again with a single card? :)
