Zotac 980 Extreme at 1565MHz Core and 8800MHz memory!

:D :D :D :D :D

Hey Gibbo I have the same card what is your ASIC? Mine is a poor OCer I think and ASIC is 70.2% :( pushed +120MHz on core and +300 on mem with no extra voltage, when I OV it becomes unstable.. did you encounter any problem OVing?

Mine is 74%

Extra voltage on the core had no impact, Maxwell benefits from low temp and on air max voltage is 1.20-1.25 range, I found sweet spot on my Zotac was 1.22v with fans at 100% and the room as cold as possible on open bench.

So most Maxwell dislike being over-volted on air, for higher voltages you need LN2.

Have you set the Power target to max?

110-130+ on the core for the Zotac is about right as its so quick out the box, they hit around 1550-1600 core speed when in 3D. It is the memory clocks which the Zotacs are best for, both mine do 8600-8800MHz memory clock, no other brand can achieve this apart from Asus Strix when hardware modified to take more memory voltage which voids warranty.

So what's he moaning about it being a poor overclocker for. Looks about right judging by your stats.

What does +300 on the memory equate to in MHz?

He needs to try harder on the memory! ;)

Keep the card cool, 100% fan and some fresh air, should be able to see +500 or even +600 on memory then easy which is around 8400MHz.

These are clocks for benching not 24/7 use. ;)

I'd settle for 1500/8000 for gaming clocks.
