I cannot get any higher.

Would like to do a 1440p run but it wont run at that resolution even if I select it. Just goes back to 1080p

Could you post the in bench screenshot please so I can put you on the scoreboard.
 
Ran this with the new CPU (4930k @ 4.7) and gained a few fps! Ran x16,x8 pciex2 previously on a 920 @ 4.2 .... make of that what you will! Looks like maybe 2 x 290x will beat these in due course as well!

Can anyone explain how similar GPU setups get way more ???
