Guys,

I thought I would revert back to the 8.6 hotfix drivers so I did a driver cleaner of all ATi drivers/software (also in safe mode).

Now everytime I try to re-install the drivers I get this message:-

Driver Install: the INF file was not found

I have no idea what to do.

Any help

Use driver sweeper too as well as driver cleaner the inf means it cannot find the directory where it's extracted to usually C:\ATI
when I uninstall I use the ati software uninstall in add remove programs and uninstall from there uninstall all but chipset

safe mode driver cleaner turn off uac turn off firewall and antivirus reboot, device manager uninstall the vista default graphics driver if asked to completely remove from system click yes reboot install ati driver. This worked for me and this was with a hd2900 with vista 64 first problem i have had with ati drivers. also try reboot with allow unsigned drivers but i don't think thats needed.

thx for the info guys, in the end I just did a system restore

May do a Vista re-format shortly any road

:)
