Uninstalled Vista- still prompted to select OS at startup?

After the BIOS screen I'm prompted to choose between XP and Vista even though I uninstalled the Vista beta completely. This is irritating because it defaults to Vista which means the PC gets stuck on startup till the correct OS is selected. How do I get rid of this screen? I presume it's a registry thing? Thanks.

boot from your xp cd and choose the recovery console at the first screen. logon with your admin password then run these 2 commands....

fixboot
fixmbr

type exit to reboot.

go to START>RUN type msconfig press enter.

When the screen loads choose boot ini tab and click on "check all boot paths" and it will ask you if you want to get rid of Vista boot path as it seems invalid or something similar.
