Can't you use the CD to install it again and then maybe it will go through the removal routine as it should..?
In the past I have had to do such things or "repair" the install first before it would then be able to be removed the application.

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility as lcg said. If that doesn't work then there's a removal utility you can try as a last resort here.
Try running it in compatibility mode perhaps?
how do i do that? is that safe mode?
OopsI assumed you were running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 but I guess not.
