Uninstalling Steam

I have uninstalled Lost Planet - but I'm struggling to get rid of the Steam software that came with it.

There was no uninstall link in the start menu and I couldn't find an *.exe to get rid of it in C:\Program Files\Steam. I did see that it was present in ccleaner's uninstall page.

I clicked on it, and then it just freezes up less than half way through and I have to ctrl-alt-del to close it down. After I did this most other things I try to install get stuck and tell me that I "need to undo changes created by Steam's uninstallation program". Can anybody offer any help as to what is going on please?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Control Panel - Add or Remove programs.

Have you tried uninstalling whilst in Safe Mode?

im having the same problem, i get a error message when i try and uninstall it...

"could not open install.log file"

It wasn't in there initially - but I downloaded the latest version, installed and then uninstalled it, the problem appears to have gone

edit - I found my solution after some heavy googling, it appears I'm not the only one to have this problem.

If you click on the steaminstall.exe it will give you the two options below

(1) repair

(2) remove
