Hi

I came across this product on the P.O.T.N website.

Here is the product:
http://www.potn.co.uk/product_info.php/type/-/cPath/618_8189/products_id/1542002/faqstyle/long

It's basically an induction kit with an in-built rotor that spins up to 40,000rpm that apparently increases engine power by at least 10bhp and in some cases 20bhp.

I'm guessing it's a load of BS but there are a lot of questions and reviews of the product and none seem to be slating the 'electric supercharger'.

In principle the idea sounds good, more air = more power but surely if you let too much air in fuel consumption with no doubt decrease heavily and could cause some long term engine damage.

Anything that is a universal 'engine mod' is usually a waste of time e.g. Ecotek valve so im guessing this product is just another thing 17 year old chavs will strap onto the engine of their 1.2 Corsa's.

My friend put one on his 1.6 16v Escort.

He seemed to think it made a difference, i thought the only difference was the whooshing noise it made when he put his foot all the way down.

NO!

One day someone will release one that works. There are a few out there but they're for brief usage only, due to the load on the electrical systems and they cost more like $5000. You're talking re-engineered centrifugual superchargers with intelligent control systems, not some ten buck fan on a piece of plastic. It's garabage!

The Universal Resistor of Power and Justice is generally considered a more worthwhile upgrade. Generally available on eBay for a nominal fee.

is that similar to the Universal Electric Supercharger that can double my bhp?

I think someone did some calculations before. They suggested there was no way the mini electric fan could force in anywhere near the amount of air an engine would require at full pelt - and that it would more than likely be restrictive as a result.

Someone at work has obviously been given one as a present. They're trying to shift it on the internal for sale BBS for £250!

I'd be lying if I said it hadn't crossed my mind to disable his account!

LOL :D

I love these :p

Similar thing, anyone remember the video of the dc5 (i think...) doing power runs on a dyno with a leaf blower attached?! They work see! :D

A good Saturday morning fart down the intake would produce more BHP gain than that thing.

So....if you got a tube...and connected one end to the air intake...and fed the other end into the car and attatched it....

Who needs a turbo! Just find a friend who can fart on command and everytime you hit 3k rpm, tell him to let rip.

:p

i emailed the seller of the electric supercharger and asked whether id gain 60bhp if i fitted a pair as this would be a bargain, 60bhp for £450.

he said it shouldnt be a problem at all to fit a pair.

dont know why i never got round to it though
