Someone had an issue with fitting a 1070 inside a Air 240 in the Case Central thread.
Something to consider.

Yeah i had reconsidering my choices else of gone with a plait jetstream or or zotac etreme it doesnt have a customer PCB and sits flush near enough with the bracket so should be fine, the otherw were raised slightly by a cm or two

I am guessing you are going to university in september? may be worth hanging on until the GBP-USD sorts itself out?

Pricing is a bit all over the shop, saw the 6600k for under £200 this morning as an example.

Yeah, going in september.

i agree with Poneros i don't thinkl the GBP/USD situation will sort itself out for a while, regret not buying it sooner but that doesn't matter.

Don't think you'll have an issue with the GPU, but be sure to check the clearance and do your research to make sure. I'd change the memory from 3000MHz to 2400MHz as memory frequency doesn't effect gaming performance, you'll be paying extra for literally 1FPS roughly. Plus machines run more stable with 2400MHz memory. Be sure to post some pictures of the finished product.

Yeah double checked the GPU a few times to make sure, ordering the parts in a minute, the 3000mhz is a "sweet spot" there was a article a while back showing FPS gains with games such as Fallout 4.

I'll make sure to post a build log though!

And it was fine yeah? And I think the 2400MHz is a better option you will save money and your machine will run more stable. Gaming you won't really see any differences, the only place you will see a difference is in a benchmark. However, if you want go with the 3000MHz, I look forward to seeing the build!

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,087.74
(includes shipping: £0.00)

SuperFlower Leadex is a better psu than the corsair RM

Phanteks Evolv doesn't have any probs fitting most components inside.

The oem i5 is £19 cheaper at the moment than the retail. You just get a shorter warranty of 1 year.

The Zotac GTX 1070 has a 5 year warranty after you register it. If you prefer the EVGA then stick with that.

Also you are better buying the Bitfenix cables individually. The gpu only needs 1 x 8 pin but the bundle has an extra 6 pin which is not needed.

Good advice here from Lee. Totally agree with the PSU selection, I love the Super Flower PSU's and have a Super Flower Leadex Gold 750W in my system is much better than the corsair PSU. Just like Lee said that Phanteks case doesn't have any issues fitting components in it's a fairly spacious and easy to use case. These are all good changes to make if you haven't already purchased the components.
