University Challenge: Final Tonight

he died.

it's a bit harsh though, i mean he was a student when they started filming, and they knew his term dates..

but he signed the form saying he would be a student until filming finished and then didn't mention that he'd failed in his doctoral funding application and was working for PWC.

Just goes to show, lack of common sense can apply to very intelligent people too :p

No wonder this country is going down the pan - an obviously very bright student is unable to get funding for a chemistry PhD, and so becomes another accountant.....

When I heard Corpus Christi scandal I thought Trimble was going to have shown her bits in Nuts or Razzle or something. Oh well, no loss.

I don't know if any of you saw the Manchester team on Breakfast this morning, but they really did come accross badly. They were being very evasive and defensive and there was really no need. Felt like knocking their heads together. All they had to say is that they would prefer to have won in a fair fight but they were happy. Instead they went on about feeling for CC and the way their families felt etc. Homos.

It sucks to be either team now, Manchester hold the title but they didn't actually win. Needs to be a rematch!
How come nobody caught on earlier that he wasn't a student?

I don't really agree with that, Manchester got to the finals, and it wasn't exactly a 263-1 match was it.

This would be such a non story if it wasn't for that girl getting all the attention after they won. Media really annoys me sometimes :S

It was a great final, so I think its an unfortunate way for the competition to end this year - I'm sure CC are sick about it, and Manchester can hardly be too happy.

UC should have caught this earlier though, bet they'll check thoroughly next time :)
