University Connection Woes

I need some help with getting my university internet connection working for the vast majority of the games I own, its starting to really get on my ****. Lots of games (UO, Dawn of War beta, CoH, etc.) dont accept I am connected to the internet, lots of others however get along with it fine.

I have tried using programs like Proxifier to connect through the university proxy server (which I have the address and port of), but to no joy. I have tried using VPN software and services, but cant even connect to them.

What else can I try?

Im guessing this one will get the same treatment, however I'd love to know what is wrong with what I said and dont know who to get in touch with privately to find out. It was a serious thread after a serious answer - What gives?

A Don or Admin would be a good start, if you're looking for someone to contact. There's links in the FAQ IIRC or I guess you can contact me through Trust, if you really want to.

As for why, you're asking how to bypass your university's filtering. Why do you think we wouldn't want that discussed?
