University lecturer?

compboyo

Sorry for asking this and insult me if you think I'm being insulting but being part of a lot of your threads and having experience of such pupils in the past, are you by any chance on the aspergers scale?

And the email you sent -
Not brilliant on your links but potential and most definitely yes.

yes I said that before but other members just dismissed me and were like

''uve not got apsergers youre just an idiot''etc...etc

I am sure I have aspergers and even aksed my doctor. But they cant really confirm it. Well I read online says there is now a test you can ask doc to get tested for aspergers but I dont know if that is true as my doc dismissed when I asked him before.

also sorry but most definatley yes? yes to what exactly?

And thanks for listening

nope my final statistic was proven correct

thanks

How was it proven correct. Did you not state categorically that if I posted again the probability that is would be negative or mocking toward you was 99%.

In fact my next post after that was in reply to dmpoole and made no mention or reference to you at all either negative or otherwise.

So maybe you can enlighten us as to the proof you have to the contrary?

I was in the ballpark when I stated that around 20% of the adult population have a degree or professional equivalent if you take the broader criteria of the paper into consideration.

Then we will have to disagree because there is no way in dmpoole's world that 20% of the people have a degree or professional equivalent.
However, that figure probably does go up to 50% at the hospital I work at but the rest of my world takes it way down.

sorry I shoudlve stated the specifics off next post to me or quoting me.

I've shown Mrs Dimple your posts and unless you are a very clever troll then she also thinks you have asperger tendencies with how you question stuff and take peoples replies.

Yes, if you practise your guitar then you do have the potential to play in a band or even go on to teaching guitar but anybody does.
Your email also confirmed what I was thinking about you because (I don't mean to offend) it wasn't the normal thing to do.

I think you are probably underestimating the people in Stoke or overestimating the impact of higher education on people's attitude.

The latest figures for 2006-10 show that year on year between 42% and 47% of English domiciled people between the ages of 17 and 30 have attended a Higher Education courses. I think that far more people have degrees or their equivalent than you give credit for.

It will be interesting to see what the latest Census turns up when the figures are released.

This reminds me of a story my sister told me about trying out for the school swimming team when starting secondary school... she was stood next to another girl and asked her if she was nervous this other girl replied with something along the lines of:

'No everyone says I'm really good at swimming, we've got a pool at home and I practice every other day, I can beat all my friends and my mum says I'm really good'

My sister didn't have a pool at home but did swim for our local club and for Birmingham - basically meaning she was swimming before school, after school and on weekends... a lot of the other girls trying out also swam competitively for local clubs...

The kid with the pool at home, who thought she'd have nothing to worry about because she was good compared to all her friends etc... didn't get into the swimming team.

I don't doubt the OP was above average at school but the other guy in this thread, who is an academic, has likely had to get through the part 3 exams a PhD and post doc to get where he is...

ok thanks. Yes I have been to doctors since a young age and suspected autism/asperger. but what I say is true regards my education. None of it is a lie. I suspect due to asperger I find maths very easy for some reason. There is some examples of aspergers people being very good at maths. Though it is not a 100% complete corrleation. Also due to my aspergers it is hard for me to find or maintain a job or leave house for long peroids without become stressed/depressed. Also I get no support or help form my doctor on this which is why I wanted a full diagnosis if possible for what that is even worth I dont know?

Who is Mrs Dimple lol? funny name...In what way do I take peoples replies? I am curious? cheers

And me to email you was odd? But I cant PM you and you never replied in my guitar thread so I had to but you didnt email me back anyway lol.

Why are you thinking Aspergers from his posts (out of interest)? Getting lots of different vibes from them, but apart from a massive dollop of social awkwardness I can't really see it.

Im interested too...but he is on to it well. because I have been to doc specifically for this, in a serious manner and a range of problems I wont discuss here that makes life/employment difficult.

If you have aspergers, I suspect that you do not have the social facility to accurately judge whether it had negative vibes or not.

In fact it was simply a neutral statement of fact and question.

Personally I felt it had negative vibe and tone towards me.

Other neutral members could decide.

however I couldnt give two craps it was all just a joke youve dragged on to seriously.

The thing is there's a couple of pretty key clinical features missing which tend to be pervasive and very obvious. The number of times you hear someone say they have 'Asperger's' online...it's a very popular 'self'-diagnosis (due to popular media) in people who believe themselves to be socially awkward, feel like they 'don't fit in', and have done well in school.
