Queen’s University Belfast has become the first to offer a course, entitled “How to train in the Jedi way” which will use techniques from the popular Star Wars movies to aid pupils in their personal development .
The course blurb encourages participants to "Battle your dark side: fear and aggression," and to "Begin your own hero-quest.” Although it does state that Lightsabres are not provided.
The course tutor who described himself as "a mild science-fiction fan" told reporters "I'm using Star Wars as a kind of teaching aid looking at psychological development techniques, social and political themes that are explored in the films" .
