I can't for the life of me fathom this one out - any ideas ?

BIOS using SATA in AHCI mode, SATA HDD and DVD-RW both discovered ok

Installed XP then drivers in this order

Chipset (P5K Premium Wi-Fi)
Intel matrix storeage manager
Onboard LAN drivers
JMicron SATA drivers for onboard eSATA ports
Onboard Wi-Fi drivers
DirectX9
Creative soundcard drivers (X-Fi Gamer)
Forceware drivers (8800GTX)
Mouse drivers (Deathadder USB)
Keyboard drivers (MS Digital Media Pro USB)

In device manager I have one unknown device, quick look in msinfo32 problem device screen says its not loaded the standard keyboard drivers ! even though I've installed the MS IntelliType software and selected my keyboard

I've disable it now as it prompts me every time I boot to desktop

Unplug everything you can & reboot & keep removing things until you don't get the message, or could be something on the motherboard that is enabled in the BIOS but you don't use. I'd start with the keyboard & sound card if you can't spot anything in the BIOS.

Ended up disabling in device manager, after several reboots it went, however later found a disabled device under another category, it was ACAPI (or something like that) related

I enabled it and it was ok, no further issues - well weird !
