Unknown problem for source engine games

Well here is the problem i had hd2900xt everything was fine till i was playing counter strike and my fps drops down from 200 + to 30 40's and gives me not smooth lagy game play.

other games that uses different engines crysis , and so on are fine. so i though it was graphics related so i changed to 8800gts 512mb and still its happening, its really annoying as you try to play the game you like and you get that fps problem and its impossible to play then...

Maybe its some kinda software problem. i did everything i reformatted my hard drive and its still happening after 10 minutes of game play. as im a fan of hl2 series and, counter strike , team fortress 2 . i don't play much else so if anyone has any ideas please help me.

you get 200 fps in css of the bat?

No change to the config? cause last time i checked there was a limiter to 60-90 or something by default.

Try validating steam files getting rid of any custom skins etc, empting the crap you've dled from servers, etc.

nope dint do anything ,max on normal config is 300fps i did change anything in config.

When i start playing its kk like 200 to 300 then maybe after 10 or 15 minutes it drops to 30 40 and it stays there and i lag like hell the problem fixes it self when i restart the game but then same think happens after approximately 10 min it wared, i tried deleting client registry blob still same thing maybe delete a config ?

yes it will open a little pop-up window saying it needs to launch and app: steam to be precise its not a web page.

Wouldn't have anything to do with temps would it? I was having a problem where my CSS would crash after around 10 minutes of play. Moved my soundcard one PCI slot along to give more space to air the gfx card, and touch wood it hasn't happened since.

nope would be that problem as mine is watercooled and has space around.

trying to validate that steam thing hope it works oh massive handover
