Having successfully unlocked the phone myself by typing in the code generated by a site I found online by submitting my IMEI number, I tried to put my 3 network SIM card in the phone. I understand I'm not going to be able to experience any of the 3G features like video calls etc but that's obvious and I dont care, but annoyingly it just says SIM Card Rejected.

Is there a way I can determine for 100% that I have unlocked my phone sucessfully? And/Or is there a way I can get this to work? :o

SIM card rejected sounds like the unlocking hasn't worked.

However, in general, 3 will block your SIM card if they find you using it in a 2.5G phone like the 6230.

as above, 3 sims ONLY work in 3G handsets. (This is due to 3 doing this intentionally to their sim cards)

i hate them for this but what can u do!

do not even try it in a non 3g handset, as if for any reason it happens to work, 3 can tell which handset you have as when you make a call, the IMEI is sent to the network, and they can figure out the make and model from that!
If they notice that your handset is not 3G, they usually send you a warning first then block the sim card completely if you continue to use it!! (to be on the safe side, don't bother! it aint worth it! (i had this prob when i put my 3 sim in a nokia 6070 (2.5G), they sent me a warning so had to change!
