So my old PC complete with a 8800GTS (640MB) is sitting here collecting dust after I purchased my new system, so I thought I'd do something nice and rebuild it for my dad to use.
As most of you probably know, the 8800 series was notorious for running at high temperatures even when in windows - something in the region of 80C when idle.
So I thought I'd have a go at underclocking it to bring those temperatures down a little. I've tried a bunch of tools but none of them really allow you to have full control over the clocks, and limit you a rather high frequencies which is a shame.
GPUtool allows full control over the frequencies but doesn't have an option for profiles dependant on the GPUs current task.
Has anyone know of any tool that will allow me to tweak the frequencies to the minimum but supports profiles so it will return to standard when necessary?
