Unlocking 6950......

Probably better to ask this question before you click the buy button :D :p
Anyway, I think most new versions are locked. Some Sapphires can still be unlocked me thinks... maybe some other people can shine light on this.
 
Sapphire 6950 Toxic is the only one with a high chance of unlocking, you just flick the switch as it's factory flashed with the extra shaders, not garanteed to work though.
 
Ha yeah, but the toxic version is almost same price as the 6970, MSI was about £25 cheaper :)

So really, theres little of no chance?
 
Most of the unlocking was done 3-6months ago, since then most new cards are locked.

I've not seen any recent posts about people with msi versions been very happy :(
 
From what I've been told, unlocking the 6950 really isn't worth the effort/risk anyway - getting a good overclock on the 6950 you can reach performance levels of a stock 6970.

I'm confused, MSI cards have probably been the most praised cards?

Yeah I'm hoping to overclock a lot. It should arrive in 20hours :D
