Unlocking a graphics card.

I read an earlier post regarding unlocking an XFX R9 290 to the X version.

I have this card and as a complete newbie to overclocking, how would you go about doing this.

I have also heard mention of fitting an extra cooler to the card, can anybody recommend one please that is suitable and will fit?

I'm going to flash mine in the next couple of days just waiting on a new mobo. happy hunting
