On the road....
Hi, I am trying to unlock a Sagem MY220x for a friend so she can use it with Vodafone.

Browsing through the web, it seems to me that I cannot do this without paying anything between £3 and £20 to various "unlockers" via paypal & the like.

Its been ages since I last unlocked a phone, iirc the last one was a Nokia 6310 and it was easy, not so with the sagem it appears.

I'm well out of the loop with regard to this, so would appreciate somebody in the know (you guys!) confirming this for me! :o:)

I have the phones IMEI number.....

Any pointers appreciated. :)

Thanks.

I had a MY220x and couldn't find a reasonable way to unlock it without paying.

There's certainly no free way.

The problem is that Sagem phones aren't popular, so unlockers charge more as it costs money for the cables and tools required to unlock Sagem phones. Nokia and SE are common so the cost is lower.

unlocking sagem phones is a PITA.

it'd be much easier to phone the network and buy an actual unlock code from them, they are legally required to provide one.

Its currently on Virgin iirc, so I contact virgin for the unlock code then? :)

Cheers.
