is this possible? I've seen some tutorials here and there over the last few years where you use a conductive pen thingy, short some legs and you get unlocked multi's. so my questions is "is it possible on a Sempron 3000+ (socket754)"

just getting a new system soon so id like to give it a go - 'cos if it goes bananas up it don't really matter :D

No sorry, that was the ye olde T-Bird>Xp's that you could do that.

The Sempron will be multi unlocked downwards though by default, just not up.

okies :( thanks anyway

Right overclocking results

27% increase (uh think i done maths right)

running @ 2.3ghz (well tiny iny bit over)
from stock 1.8ghz

1.5vCore
2.65vDimm
ram is only running at 164.6mhz because of the inability to manually set a ram divider, however i can tighten up the timings a bit more than i could on the 200-250mhz mark so all is not lost

most stable FSB i got is 267mhz, anything more could BSOD under about 5minutes of 100% load, sometimes wont even post :/ this is down to (i believe) not being able to set the chipset voltage.. but still all in all not a wasted expedition

cinebench time gone from 1:30 to 1:11, not bad i suppose - hehe.

hence i wanted to do the multiplyer, cos the FSB is maxed out and what not - just gotta tighten up the ram timings a little and i would have pushed this system as far as it will go

oh and no tempreture change - gotta love a tuniq tower 120 on a sempron (who said it was overkill :p )
