Unlocking SGS2 (T-Mob)

Hello all, i've been having ridiculous trouble with this, something that I thought was going to be an easy enough process.

First problem was the version of Android I was on I couldn't find an appropriate kernel to root with, so I updated to a newer stock Samsung XWLSW version (4.1.2) as this would allow me to root the phone easily.

Simple I thought, now I shall just run Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock!!

Nope! Could not find unlock code.

So I then moved on to Galaxy_S Unlock.

This has also failed miserably despite the overwhelming feedback for both apps being that they unlock virtually all phones.

Have I done something stupid here or is there something i'm missing?

I used GalaxSim Unlock to unlock mine a few weeks ago (Three network), worked great.

Yeah that was my next port of call but being a tight git I was hoping there was something daft I might be doing wrong with the free methods before I spent £2.59 on that

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

I tried that one first, it found the code but then told me I had to pay to unlock it.
Also being a tight git I then tried a few free ones, but when none of them worked I couldn't be bothered and just paid for the first one.
