Unlocking the 6950

Ah, no I didn't think so, you have a good point.
I ran Kombustor a little while ago but it only seems to happen when games are playing :/ Plus the 6950 makes a very screechy whirling noise.
That said it is running Crysis. And for some reason the credits run at over four thousands FPS (need to find a way to limit that)

It is normal for Aero to be disabled when a 3D app is running. Usually you don't see that message though as the 3D app (fullscreen) covers it up. Are you running a windowed 3D app?

No, not to my knowledge. I locked the fans manually at 30 and it's nice and quiet.
Hopefully when the drivers done installing I'll have less problems, thanks

Scratch that, I've just restarted and now it jumps to 50 on idle :/ (when I put it on auto)

Yes I created a modded.bin file.
And you know what's strange? I'm getting less FPS on benchmarks now than I was before I downloaded the new driver.
