I recently bought the Powercolor X800GTO PCI-e from overclockers, and I heard that you can unlock the last four pipelines up to a total of 16, resulting in a performance that rivals X850XTs or similair. How would I go about doing this? As you can see, an 80 quid card with the performance of a card costing 120 more sounds very appealing..

Best thing is to buy a card u know will unlock or has 16pipes anyhow. GTO2 and older connect3d gto are unlockable. Powercolor and newer GTO2 sapphire are 16pipes from factory. All other cards have some hardware lock that no-one has been able to bypass.
The connect3d was the bargin since mine was £119 delivered, whereas GTO2 is ~£150 and u can now get a powercolor x850xt for the same price, making it the better option.
