unlocking x3 450

I'm trying to unlock my X3 450, it all looks good up to the BIOS enter screen but after that the screen just stays black. I can enter the BIOS and it displays as a X4 B50. Is there anything else I can try? I've tried to up my vcore slightly but i'm not convinced i'm doing it right because CPU-Z doesn't recognize the change.

Also ACC shows 6 cores so do I have a hex core with 3 cores turned off? I must be pretty unlucky if they are all faulty?

tri cores cannot unlock to 6 cores, only the phenom X4's can and only some of them can.

I would check the net and see which processors can be unlocked. I know it is only the Phenoms which can and the one or two athlons.

Also, which motherboard are you using? This is a big factor!
