Howdy :)

The missus has bagged me a PS3 for christmas, and I'd like to get an extra pad for some hot two-player action - however, I remember with the PS1 that every unofficial pad I used was just incredibly inferior to the official dualshock. With official wireless ps3 pads retailing at >£35, I'd like to save a bit o' cash - are any of the unofficial pads actually any good this time 'round?

I believe that sony fixed it so that only the official DS3 and those officially licensed third party controllers will work a few firmware updates back so I suggest you stick with the official stuff (since I don't trust the products from one of the companies that have a license to manufacture third party controllers).

Just get a genuine one, anything else is likely to be rubbish. A lot of them even need a USB dongle because they don't use Bluetooth.

I use the PowerA wireless jobbie which you can buy from a well know high-street catalogue shop. It gets mixed reviews, but I find it miles better than the DS3 because of the triggers and analogue stick placement. I wouldn't play GT5 half as much if I didn't have it :)

(and yes, it needs to use a USB dongle, but is it really that much of an issue?)
