Unofficial 360 Hardware? Does it exist?

I bought a broken 360 from a member of this here forum, I've sent it off for repair so hopefully the guy can fix it for me

But the xbox has no hard drive or memory card, and (excuse the caps, but) ARE THE HARD DRIVES A RIP OFF OR WHAT?!! £70 for a 20gb hard drive... you can get a 250gb hard drive for almost half that!

So I figured I'd get a memory stick, if the box is repairable, as it's a much cheaper alternative to a hard drive. But even then you're paying £20 for a 64mb chunk of memory...

I figure unofficial hardware would be cheaper, but I can't seem to find any?

Can you get unofficial hardware for the 360? Or somehow get a PC hard drive onto the 360? Or anything that means I'm not getting ripped off for memory?

I can't seem to find much info on it! I've posted in a "console mod friendly" forum asking for a bit of info, but have a funny feeling I wont get much

Also, it sounds like I'm going to need a 20GB drive in the first place!

So is there no unofficial memory cards or hard drives? It seems weird - I know that I'd be making unofficial goods the second the 360 came out if I had ties with Chinese manufacturers!

Do regular USB memory pens work in it as a memory stick?
