Will be getting a 360 shortly and ill be needing a VGA cable for it. Now I still udnerstand that the official ones are still hard to get hold of and rather pricey. Now ive seen loads on a certain auction site, unofficial ones that is. Are these just as good as the official ones and will provide a decent picture on a TFT monitor?

The official ones aren't that hard to get ahold of now and while they may be slightly more expensive, I would suggest it's worth it. The cheaper, unofficial cables have been reported to wash out colours and have generally not so good image quality. That said, a lot of people have no issues with them what so ever.

Cheers. Also, my monitor won't do 1280x720without a video mode not supported message. Will this be a problem if I try and run the xbox on my monitor? Can it be done in 1280x1024? Also my monitor can do 1280x768. Would I notice much difference between that and 1280x720 in terms of picture quality and distortion?

Yes 1024x768, 1280x1024 supported and a few more, but ill warn you now you will get borders top and bottom unless you on a widescreen, but it does look fantastic.

Thanks. Just one more thing. I will use just this one TFT between my 360 and my PC, so I will need a KVM switch so I can still use ventrilo (voice chat on PC) and play the 360 at the same time. First of all, will a KVM and a 360 work and if it does, will there be any nasty side effects?

Joytech ones here and great picture.

People who have complained about washed out colours are just as likely to be using the official cables from my experience.

i use madcatz cable no problems at all using sony monitor.
i use my pc and xbox360 on same monitor using switch i got from ******s.
cheers ian

Blaze here, and its disappointing. Dont know if i was expecting too much to start with, but id been using a normal telly before, and frankly prefer that over the HD...

Getting a new screen soon LCD HD TV so wont be a problem... but i wouldnt get Blaze...

Thinking about it, I also have a 17" Dell crt lying around here. Would the picture on that be as good with a VGA cable as my TFT?

mad katz one here, handy for the length of the cable (15ft) but no optical cable included. still good pic quality.

i just use a standard vga switch to switch between displays. works a treat

I've got a Mad Catz and I get some shadowing :( its really noticable with things like black text on white background.

I've got a Blaze cable on the way so i'll see how that compares.

i have a madcatz and it shadows too, it sucks....it must be faulty. I bought this one to replace the faulty Joytech one, which ive waited 2 months for a replacement so far :/
