Unofficial 360 VGA cables

Hi all

Just to clarify

I have a 19inch widescreen TFT with my 360 connected to it via VGA

I also want to use it as a second screen for my laptop.

So all i need is a VGA switch box and thats it? Any loss of picture quality as I hear that if you just get a vga splitter cable it affects this.

Grateful for someone to clear it up for me.

Ryan

Cheers. Also, my monitor won't do 1280x720without a video mode not supported message. Will this be a problem if I try and run the xbox on my monitor? Can it be done in 1280x1024? Also my monitor can do 1280x768. Would I notice much difference between that and 1280x720 in terms of picture quality and distortion?

Yes 1024x768, 1280x1024 supported and a few more, but ill warn you now you will get borders top and bottom unless you on a widescreen, but it does look fantastic.

I bought mine(Joytech) from a friend who said it looked washed out... Its looks amazing on my 21" Sony Trinitron Monitor... But like reported if you run some games at 1280x1024 there are borders at top and bottom RR6 and Condemmed but its fine on PGR3 and Tiger Woods. So i have set it to 1280x720 widescreen and as far as i can tell it works perfectlly without borders and nothing squashed or cropped... On menus they are perfectly centered and in game things like HUD and stats are in the correct place...

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I thought this might be of use to anyone who is still looking for unofficial VGA's.

I mentoned in this thread that I got shadowing using my Mad Catz VGA lead... well after finally getting round to plugging in my Blaze VGA (courtesy of Andy Axe) I now have no shadowing at all and everything looks less washed out.

Whilst I can't compare the Blaze to the official MS one or Logic / Joytech etc. I can say that the image quality is much better than the Mad Catz lead which personally I would avoid. The cabling on the Mad Catz isn't (imo) of a high enough quality to cope with the huge cable length.
