Hi,

Hoping this thread is allowed; Please instruct if not!

I've always used "unofficial" ink carts as they are so much cheaper than buying the recommended manufacturer models. Until recently I've not noted any problems in doing so.

Despite this, a recent batch I ordered have some weird quirk (or at least I assume its the ink carts, was fine before). When first used the ink carts printed fine. The ink fill status goes down very quickly though, and after a few "good" pages the pages miss every other line (say 1 cm good, 1 cm bad, etc, etc) until the cart is replaced. Having tried this with a few carts (ordered a few at once) and the problem is the same each time.

Therefore, I'm the hunt for some new carts. Can anybody recommend any websites that they have ordered for, and had no problems with the carts? I'm using an Epson ink jet.

Thanks! :)

You will struggle for reply's on this topic because most / all websites that sell compatible ink will also sell items of a similar nature to OCuk. My shop sells them for example (well known in notts) but I cant list it for obvious reasons.

the brand I'd recommend is inkrite - they have their own site but I order off amazon marketplace usually going with cheapest seller and one with most positive feedback.

I get laser toner cartridges but would expect their ink cartridges to be similar in quality.

Do what I did last night, google and then pick a random shop. I managed to get free first class delivery too, and it should be with me tomorrow!

That's what I did last time and (the first time) had a bad experience... Hoping some new carts fix that though :)

Thanks for the replies all; I'll check it out and get some ordered. Got some printing to sort out asap.

Cheers!

I hate non genuine cartridges.

Yep, couldn't agree more. People say that they work fine, but i've seen too many printers have their lines/heads clogged by dodgy ink and toners. I've even seen toners implode inside of printers, leaving a lovely colourful cloud to try and clean up afterwards :/

Inkrite are good. As are TotalImage.

Tip: Refurbished cartridges are A-ok. *AVOID* compatible cartridges, often these are inferior to the standard design.

I use and recommend refurbished carts where possible.

There's nothing wrong with Compatible Ink Cartridges been using them since my 1st printer Epson 400 to my present one Canon IP4300, saved a small fortune.

The main reason for printer's getting blocked heads, etc, is the lack of use, you can still get blocked head's even with genuine cartridge's.

Just get agood brand as suggested Inkrite for one.

Inkrite were a bit more expensive, but bought the complete set off of eBay. They are the ones where the actual chip can be reused so hopefully they'll last well... Better than spending less and having the same issue as I'm having now again.

Bought from eBay, but after checking I found the company has a website which is a quid cheaper... Ah well! :)

Thanks for the help!

Well, my lexmark started saying it needed new ink about 6months ago, i ordered more ink and kept printing. It finally ran out a few days ago, i replaced it with the genuine replacement, purchased from lexmark themselves, the cartridge is faulty and they don't want to know as its more than 3 months old.....

Screw the genuines... never had a problem with compatibles.
