**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Tyre Reviews out with another test, interestingly it has the Sunny NA305 up against the top manufacturers.

Out of context of just how atrocious the Sunny is - something I think that video highlights is how sometimes the benchmark numbers can be a bit meaningless - OK it is leading the pack but just how good the Bridgestone feels to drive on in the wet subjectively is also a huge factor - one of the reasons I still highly rate the older Turanza t005 in the wet despite it being an older tyre which doesn't do as well in raw benchmark numbers vs the latest wet weather tyres is just how it feels to drive in the wet and way you can feel what it is doing and ability to retain control in that respect is better than some of the tyres which benchmark better.

EDIT: Just in case anyone still wants those Sunnys - braking from motorway speeds to stopped (from above review):

An extra 20m and thats still passes regs? Wtf.

I’m not sure if that graph above is correct? The Sunny tyres whilst terrible stopped 5 metre further than the best in the dry and 9 metres further than the best in the wet.

Probably different testing scenarios, the motorway speed test was an additional one.

After watching that and seeing the benchmark figures I feel justified to have swapped them out. Now running on the Assy 6 and already, even in the dry, the difference is palpable. I'm sure this will be even more obvious when we finally get some rain.

I will be in the market for some new tyres in the next month or so and currently considering options.

G80 M3 XDrive, it came with PZero fitted so thinking of switching to PS4S as I switched to these before on my M340i (although that was going from run flat to non run flat and these aren't run flat), the PZero 5 seem to be getting good reviews but they don't appear to be available, so checking if any other recommendations other than the PS4S or PZero?

Conti sport contact 7? https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/2022-Tyre-Reviews-UHP-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm

Thanks for the suggestions, although I think the tyre sizes (275/35/19 + 285/30/20) are taking some options off the list.

Eagle - don't appear to be available for both sizes.
Primacy - as above.

PS4S - limited suppliers with front and rear both available with the * marked ones
Conti Sport Contract 7 - much cheaper, but reviews do seem good.

I have a few weeks to decide and see if stock is available so no rush.

Stuck some Bridgestone Turanza 6 All Season on the Qashqai as I've been curious about them - so far not that gone on them to be honest though some of that is on me. Like with the CC2 and others with this pattern they tend to pick up stones a lot and around where I live there is a lot of small stones on the roads/tracks. Also like the other tyres with this tread pattern they are a bit vague around the centre and not the best at handling quick direction changes i.e. slalom test - they track nicely through the first corner but sloppy on entry to the second.

Interestingly though they track really nicely around a corner, if you aren't threading corners together, actually a lot better than most sports tyres until you start chucking them around - once committed into a corner they hold the road nicely with tons of feedback and handle fine adjustment really nicely - but don't transition into another corner well.

Seem pretty decent for ride comfort but you can tell the rolling resistance isn't as good as some tyres.

The Conti All Season Contact 2 are probably better around where I live as they don't pick up stones, etc. as much.
