**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

I might try them in the future when I change my rears. I paid about £240ish for a set of F1AS2 as per this thread but looks like a vauxhall specialist place would be around £200 fitted.

Just ordered a couple of Continental Premium Contact 2's, 215/60 R17, for a little over £200 on monday midday, were delivered from germany by wednesday lunctime from tyreleader.

Great Service!

Used tyre leader for my most recent tyres, good price and fast delivery. Seems everyone is having great service from them.

Hey folks, after some advice.

Need some new tyres for the front of my focus. 205/50/R17.

I'm looking for good tyres for normal usage, no "extreme" driving (just the occasional spirited corner), so I'm happy to spend a decent amount. I'd like them to be reasonably quiet alongside having some grip and feeling to them, I've had some awful things on the front of it since I bought it and they don't inspire any confidence in the car at all.

a lot of tyres available so whilst I plough through the information myself, I was hoping you guys could fire some suggestions at me.

Currently looking at Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance. Any other suggestions?

Just got a couple of new Goodyear Eagle F1A2's fitted to the rear. Forgot how crap new tyres are. It just feels horrible to drive at the moment with the DSC cutting in so much. I've only done 150miles so hopefully they'll get better soon.

Civic needs 4 new tyres soon. Gonna try Contisport 5 out I think.

F1AS2 have worn well on the front (20k) but they always look a bit flat, so would be good to try something else. 0.5kg a tyre lighter too.

I need two new front tyres on my 08 Fiesta soon, 205/40/r17.
Im pretty out of the loop with tyres at the moment, so what would a recommended mid range tyre be at the moment? (About 60-70 per tyre)

Don't waste your money, you live in Rutland not Salzburg.

I worked as an engineer at a power station some years back. It was in the middle of nowhere. Getting to it was a nightmare in the winter. The roads leading up the station were all single track country roads. So in the middle of the night when the temperatures dropped close to, or below zero, the road was slippery as heck the following morning since it hadn't been driven on. Autumn was just as bad with layers of fallen leaves planted onto the road. Gentle braking at normal speeds in your average FWD hatchback caused issues during these times.

Yes we live in Britain, and not Alaska - however given some circumstances winter tyres are desirable.

I've never had winter tyres on my own car, but have driven a car with them on in conditions that warranted them. Whilst I agree someone driving around a busy city shouldn't need them, it's daft to give winter tyres a blanket dismissal because of Britain's mediocre winters.

In a similar boat here.

Looking at buying some new front tyres for the Colt.

Currently got some Khumho KU39's been really good but was on a little on the expensive side. £170 both fitted they only lasted around 18 months.

Forgot to mention size 205/45/16
