Unpaid internships

So if I am doing full days with set hours (9-5), definitely doing what would constitute as paid work with set tasks benefiting the company, and not being paid it is more than likely illegal?

Yes. I'm not sure if the timescale comes into it but I don't think it would really make a difference, although a particularly short one may earmark you as obviously not being an employee

The funny thing is our government is pretty much doing this now for the likes of Tesco, Poundland, Argos etc.

I find it really funny that some people in this country get on they're high horse about buying only fair trade, how our government frowns upon communism and wages in China, but is pretty much giving away people to work at £1 an hour to multimillion profit companies.

The hypocrisy is strong in this country.
