Unpatchable security flaw found in the T2 chip

Whoops. It seems there is a security vulnerability in the T2 security chip. What's worse is it can't be patched. Luckily the attacker would need physical access to the device so it's not an issue for the majority of people.

Not surprised in the slightest - these "Management processors" were ripe for the picking regardless of who makes them just because of what they do.

The fact that most are completely proprietary means that they never receive the kind of scrutiny needed to prevent a lot of the flaws that eventually end up being found in them (e.g. versus an open source equivalent).

so in essence if you lose your laptop, then someone might be able to recover your encrypted data.
