unplugged sata hard drive without doing safely remove hardware!!

Well, I noticed when i got my sata drive, it has safely remove hardware icon at the bottom. If i dont safely remove it before unplugging it, will it damage it. As i unplugged it without safety removing it and now it doesnt work :( it wont read it in the bios!

Well you might be a bit buggered

Have you tried another Sata port or pref. another PC?

If they cant see it then you've fubard it, maybe try a RMA but who knows if they would accept it

It might seem obvious, but have you plugged it back in?

Unplugging it with the power off won't harm it at all, Safely Remove Hardware just lets you unplug it with the power on.

You say that but I did the remove hardware thing and it might have messed up the Hdd some how it always made a "clunk" afterwards and in end i had to RMA it

coincidence maybe?? who knows
